Psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the COVID-19 Impact Scale in university students

The psychological impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have substantially changed and this requires a new measurement tool reflecting these changes. Impact Scale (CIS) assesses stress responses to pandemic. This study, for first time, examined psychometric properties Turkish version CIS in university students by focusing on its internal consistency reliability, factor structure, criterion validity predictive validity. Using cross-sectional research design, data were collected from 486 studying at public Turkey. Participants completed Kessler Psychological Distress Scale-6 using an online survey. results showed that had excellent reliability. Results exploratory confirmatory yielded one-factor solution scale with high loadings. Also, was not only significantly positively correlated distress but also accounted significant amount unique variance prediction after controlling effects age gender. These suggest is psychometrically sound good evidence reliability students. can be confidently used clinical practices.
